Invoicing checklist for mowing businesses
A simple end-of-day checklist for reviewing mowing work before invoices are sent.
A short invoicing checklist turns an end-of-day rush into a repeatable billing process. The right checklist should be quick enough to use after a full route, but specific enough to catch the details customers notice.
Before you create the invoice
Confirm the completed visits, treatments, and add-on work from the route. Start from the customer record so the billing contact and service location are already available.
If work was completed at a nondefault property, select that location before adding service lines.
Quick review
- Correct customer is selected.
- Correct service location is selected.
- Completed work is ready to enter.
Before you submit
Review service dates, quantities, descriptions, and prices. Check that any customer-specific price override is being used only where expected.
A submitted invoice receives its official number and becomes the sales record, so a short review before submission saves correction work later.
Quick review
- Every line item is complete.
- Due date and payment terms are right.
- Total reflects only approved, completed work.
After you submit
Print or save the invoice when a paper or PDF copy is needed. As payments arrive, record the method, date, amount, and check number where applicable instead of relying on a note outside the invoice history.
Use invoice reporting to review submitted work by date and status before you close out a week or month.
Quick review
- Customer receives the needed print or PDF copy.
- Payments are recorded against the invoice.
- Open balances are reviewed before the next billing cycle.
Put the checklist into a real workflow.
Mowtab keeps customer, service-location, pricing, estimate, invoice, and payment details close together as your lawn-service business grows.
